Privacy Notice

Last updated: August 2026. Jade Valley Library collects only the information a visitor chooses to submit through a form.

Information collected

The Letters From Jade form may collect an email address, an optional name, an interest selection, an optional message, and the consent checkbox attached to the submission. The Vietnam Readiness Scorecard email form may collect a first name, email address, planned move window, household type, core score, result category, main planning gap, optional family or pet result, and the names of critical gaps. The scorecard does not transmit each individual answer. Basic technical records may also be created by the website host to operate and protect the site.

How it is used

Submitted information is used to deliver occasional Jade Valley updates, release notices, and requested resources; to understand what brought a reader to the Valley; and to respond when a message reasonably calls for a reply. It is not sold.

Service providers

The website is hosted through Netlify. The backup signup form is processed through Netlify Forms. When the authentic mailing form is connected, EmailOctopus processes mailing-list subscriptions and delivers emails. Each provider handles information under its own service terms and privacy practices.

Choice and retention

Every mailing email should provide an unsubscribe method. A subscriber may use it at any time. Form records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate the list, answer a request, meet legal obligations, or protect the service.

Cookies and local storage

This build does not intentionally add advertising trackers or behavioral advertising cookies. The Vietnam Readiness Scorecard may save unfinished answers and a completed result in the visitor's own browser so the visitor can resume later; that local copy can be cleared by restarting the scorecard or clearing browser storage. A service provider may use essential technical storage needed to operate, secure, or measure its own service.

Children

Letters From Jade is not intended to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian should submit any family-related request.

Questions

Questions about a submission can be sent by replying to a Jade Valley email after the mailing connection is active. Until then, do not place sensitive personal, financial, medical, military, or identity documents in the optional message field.
